About

Avon Butchery was built and established in 1960 by (A)dolph (von) der Decken, after whom it is named. Ownership of Avon changed hands a couple of times before being bought by the Fetting family in 1999.

In 2016, Dylan Fetting took over the running of the business from his father, Darryl Fetting, after returning home from Johannesburg.

 

In 2021, we renovated the original butchery, and gave it not only an outward makeover but improved the products and service offering, adding a fruit and vegetable line in the store. We also expanded the business to reach further customer groups by opening a branch in Alice, Eastern Cape.

Although Avon Butchery has grown and the building has been improved, we at Avon Butchery continue to offer our customers a personalized and traditional butchery experience, whereby products can be selected by you and cut according to your preference.
